Two "Editions" were published by Castell Brothers as Pepys Series games. A third version was produced when T.J. & J. Smith followed Castell Brothers as the publisher of Pepys games, T.J. and J Smith kept the "2nd Edition" description going.
The 1st and 2nd Edition Castell Brothers versions are virtually indistinguishable, apart from the words "2nd Edition" on the back of the box. My pack has differences on the back page of the rules, the games advertised are different and the address is 15/17 rather than 14/17 St. Cross Street (see also Trains). The card backs are a slightly different shade of blue but this could be due to storage or being part of different print runs. Everything else is identical.
The T.J. and J. Smith "2nd Edition" of circa 1977 has the same cards, now printed by Carta Mundi, so a slightly different feel and shade. There are several more obvious differences: The box front is printed and has a thumb cut, the box has a double vent to the top, the base is a tuck-style, the rules are a fold-out rather than a stapled booklet and the Pepys device or Logo is modified.
When Gibsons took over Pepys' games they too issued a version of the game using the same cards but their game was titled "British Wild Flowers". This 1984 game has its own separate entry, click on the picture of the box for more details.
Both the Castell Brothers and the T.J. & J. Smith 2nd Edition packs featured here were part of Rex Pitts' personal collection.
