Little Grey Rabbit the Pepys card game was published in 1954. Four of the cards from that game are very similar to the tile pictures in Little Grey Rabbit Dominoes, see below. I wonder whether any original artwork was produced specifically for the dominoes. Margaret Tempest the original illustrator is not credited on the box and nor is Alison Uttley the author.

I have dated Little Grey Rabbit Dominoes to circa 1967. In that year Pepys released the copyright dated Woodland Dominoes, illustrated by Racey Helps.

Three Little Grey Rabbit and three Racey Helps Woodland jigsaws were also produced by Pepys as part of a new range at around the same time. Both Little Grey Rabbit and the Woodland card games by Racey Helps were still being produced by Pepys.

So I have no evidence but it seems plausible that licensing arrangements would have been negotiated at the same time for card games, jigsaws and dominoes. Releasing new jigsaws and dominoes by two established sellers at the same time would also make sense.

For more details of Pepys' range of eight domino games, see the Pepys Dominoes feature.
