The wartime economy version of Kargo is very similar to Pepys' 1941 Belisha and Peter Pan. All the padded boxes have been replaced with tuck boxes.

The printing has one main difference, the green elements of the design are noticeably different. Below to the left is a card from one of Pepys' Padded Box Editions and to the right the same card from a Wartime edition of Kargo.

Two Putt cards, to the left one with a grainy green surface from an earlier edition, to the right a wartime version of the same card, the green elements are smoother and the colour density is greater.

Apart from the box this does not feel or look like an economy game.

The rules have a stiff paper cover and advertisements. The boxes have nothing printed on their sides, just top and bottom.

A feature looking at all of Pepys' wartime games will be added to this site in due course.

The green pack featured here was part of Rex Pitts' personal collection.
