Castell Brothers were founded in 1878 as stationers. One of their brands of writing paper was "Pepys Parchment". The brand name "Pepys" was extended to Castell's first playing cards in 1931 and was later applied to their range of card and other games.
In the 1930s "Pepys Stationery" was produced alongside "Pepys Series" games, sometimes being advertised in game rule books e.g. Belisha.
Eagle Bond Junior Stationery is the only Pepys stationery set I know of that is themed in conjunction with Pepys games.
In 1953 Castell Brothers produced produced four games featuring Eagle magazine characters, two card games (Dan Dare and Riders of the Range) and two party games (Space Ships - The Dan Dare Treasure Hunt and Round Up - The Riders of the Range Action Game). I think it is very likely that this Eagle Bond Junior Stationery set was produced at the same time.
I have not been able to find any contemporary advertisements for this set and have not seen another example. Perhaps there were similar sets produced to tie-in with other Pepys games, if you know of any I'd be very interested to hear from you, please drop me a line.
