Belisha Card Game, Pepys Series
(The Red and Green backed packs of cards and their matching boxes were released at the same time and are not separate editions)
First Published: 1941, Pepys Series by Castell Brothers Ltd., Bow Street, London
Illustrator or Designer: Not Credited
Contents: 53 Cards + Rules Booklet
The wartime economy version of Belisha is very similar to Pepys' 1941 Kargo and Peter Pan. All the padded boxes have been replaced with tuck boxes.
In Belisha's case the card backs have been redesigned but the fronts remain the same. Rather than the Red and Blue cards of the earlier edition the cards and boxes are now Red and Green. The rules don't have a stiff paper cover or advertisements. The boxes have nothing printed on their sides, just top and bottom.
A feature looking at all of Pepys' wartime games will be added to this site in due course.
The green pack featured here was part of Rex Pitts' personal collection.
